Alex Ferguson couldn't keep that squad up.
If you don't spend when promoted you're as good as fucked unless you get really lucky.
Biggest signing was grady who couldn't even get a game as a sub for us which is all you needed to know.

If they keep Bilic, what are the chances of West Brom staying up? Pretty slim, you'd think. But how much higher are the chances with BFS? Probably fairly slim too.
The problem is not the manager, but the club's unwillingness to spend on quality players.
Familiar.
Sack the board.

Often think the worst thing a manager of a limited Championship club can do is get promoted. The Brentford manager fucked up promotion last year & is bouncing along in the same division & no one is looking to sack him. Bilic is doing as as can be expected as it seems all their spending was just to retain players they had had on loan last season.
According to the bbc report senior people at the club realise that and think he should stay but the Chinese owners want to change.

Sven, I think I heard that they spent 40 million+ on players when they got promoted, mostly - as you say - on making loans permanent. That's not a lot of money in Premier League tearms, but it probably is a lot for a club like WBA.
So old Fu Manchu (nomenclature for flippant purposes only, racism not intended - I don't know his name) seems to be choosing the Allardyce route, seeing in him a cheaper way to avoid relegation. That's understandable as a business decision, but it's not good for the Baggies or for football generally.

The Baggies fans hated that cunt Pulis, and BFS is an even bigger cunt than Pulis. Slaven is doing a decent job, think I'm right in saying they have lost a few games by just the odd goal. Looks like he's a gonna though. His stock is fairly high right now, so imo he will get some decent offers in time.

I'm sure slaven will be fine but I feel sorry for their fans having owners like this. absolute clueless, incompetent cunts

I think I’ve said this before, but my theory about Bilic is that he gets results initially through his passionate speeches etc, but the effect wears off after a season or two.

The only manager I can think of who survived it was Daniel Farke, and he is not doing to badly. I think a lot more of these clubs should accept they might go back down and like Norwich did, plan for longevity.

Prumphs, Dyche, who is the longest serving manager with the same club in the EPL, survived a relegation with Burnley. His club were realistic, like Norwich seem to be, with a strategy which had factored in coming back down to the Championship in short order.

If Bilic is sacked today you have to say it's very, very harsh. He is in an impossible situation with more or less the same squad that won promotion.
History shows in general that policy can't work. Perhaps Wolves made it 2 seasons ago but in their case, Nuno was in the market pretty damn quick.
Slaven is a good man so, we all want the best for him. Maybe the best is for West Brom to let him go because I think that job will test the very best. I wonder if they have Eddie Howe lined up?

we all love Slav, but lets not let that get in the way of the fact WBA are doing absolutely shit, they have a decent enough team.

They've a decent enough side for the PL, they're side is streets ahead of Sheff Utd who done excellent last year, albeit found out this year.
He's an OK manager, but people will him to do well because he's such a loveable cunt.

Let's not forget Bilic played Antonio at Right back. After he'd already shown what he could do further up the pitch. He has serious flaws as a top level club manager.
